Hunting & Fishing

Linton is situated in south central North Dakota where there is an abundance of wildlife.  White tail and mule deer are in the area for the big game hunter.

Ring-necked pheasants, grouse, partridge, doves, and wild turkeys are here for the bird hunters.  Canadian geese and many varieties of ducks can be found in the area as well.

For the fisherman, Lake Oahe and Beaver Bay are just 15 miles west of Linton.  They are a part of the Missouri River System.  There are numerous boat ramps available.  Many excellent areas also exist to fish from shore.
Fishing is a year round hobby with ice fishing also being a popular pastime.  Types of fish that are common are walleye, sauger, northern pike, bass, catfish, and crappie.
The Linton Shooting Range is located 1 mile west of Linton.  It is a certified range and is also open to trap shooting.
